To tell you the truth, there is no reason why you should visit Jakarta. It’s a crowded place, no air for breathing, pollution in everywhere, museums suck, a lot of beggars, and one thing you will not forget about Jakarta are the TRAFFIC JAMS. So, welcome to the jungle, where people will give you a fake smile because you are a foreigner, and be careful: many Indonesians like to take advantage of foreigners; of course I’m talking about money. :P
Well, besides those bad sides, Jakarta has many good places to visit. Having beers or a great time at a bar or club is a good idea to kill your night time. Jakarta is known for its nightlife. In this town, you will find malls easily.
I suggest that when you visit Indonesia, please also visit another town, such as Bali, Jogjakarta, Lombok, Bandung, etc. Jakarta is nothing special, only a town fully blocked by skyscrapers.
Don’t worry about the costs, in Indonesia everything is cheap. :P You’ll be rich as soon as you arrive at Soekarno Hatta Airport.
